Game Changers beim  Brachycephalen Syndrom - altbekannte Krankheit - neue Tricks

22 Oct 2021
Konferenzsaal 1

Over the last years, Brachycephalic breeds have become the most popular dog breeds in many countries. Brachycephalic breeds are genetically and anatomically predisposed to serious airway and possibly gastrointestinal diseases. The French Bulldog and Pugs are breeds in which we recently see more serious anatomic changes and most often very serious clinical signs. We will review the anatomical and pathophysiological changes in the brachycephalic breeds. A review of common surgical procedures and more recent advances will give us an insight in this difficult to treat condition. The most important factor in a successful outcome for these patients is the postoperative care, management and monitoring.
